Parents have a role in Troop 73 as well. Beyond the normal supporting and encouraging their scout in everything he does and is interested in doing, parents should try and:
- Read and understand the Scout Handbook
- Actively encourage their scouts progress and give support and guidance when needed
- Support their Scout, and the Troop, by attending Court of Honor ceremonies and any other special events that may happen from time to time
- Be aware of Troop events and schedule
- Support the Troop by:
- Assisting in Fund Raising activities
- Participate in Service and Eagle Projects along side their Scout
- Participate in Scout Board of Reviews
- Help with Event transportation
- Attend Troop Committee meetings as either a “Scout Parent” or serve as a Trained Committee Member
- Server as a Trained Merit Badge Counselor in the areas you know best, either as a hobby or professionally
- Assist the Scoutmaster and become a Trained Assistant Scoutmaster
And remember, we’re all in this together, we’re parents too! If you have any questions at anytime, please contact the Scoutmaster or the Committee Chair and they will be more tan happy to assist you.
